Damsel In Distress
It was a murkily dark evening
Very eerie to be in as I was leaving,
The damp clinging wetness of the fog
Simply made one all agog.
Hearing footsteps behind me,
Did not help for I could not see,
Just the shoes hitting the cobblestone,
Made me tremble all the way to the bone.
The twists and turns of these gnarly old streets,
Did not help me in escaping a terrible defeat,
Plunging into the black of night
Scurrying to avoid a horrible plight.
It is dark down here, no left or right,
Oh God, I know not how to fight
Only blackness and endless steps,
Stalked by someone with monstrous biceps,
